We’re excited about Edgerly Plaza ~ check out this month’s events! It’s become a fantastic addition to our community. Civic action made this possible. And speaking of civic action, it’s important to vote in the primaries to choose who’ll be on the November ballot!!! Please be sure you’re registered for the September Primary Election! And, with 9 ballot issues on the November ballot, you might want to read up! While you’re out and about, be aware of the Green Line closures from Aug 8-16, you may need to plan your travel around this week’s shutdowns.

Wednesday, August 12, 6:30–8:30 pm, Neighborhood Flavors at MAAM MassArt Art Museum 621 Huntington Ave. Part of their Outdoor Series of weekly artful experiences, workshops, and social gatherings designed to engage participants in creative exploration. At NEIGHBORHOOD FLAVORS, experience the richness of the local landscape during an evening of hands-on art and sensory exploration, sample curated flavors and hear a soundscape of local ambient sounds. The Boston Public Library lists three helpful political research sites:
- Ballotpedia describes itself as an online encyclopedia of American politics and elections. Its goal is to inform people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of government. They are committed to neutrality and objectivity; articles are written by its staff. It provides information on elections and candidates at the local, state, and federal level.
- VoteSmart this organization’s mission is to provide free, factual, unbiased information on candidates and elected officials. It’s a compendium of all types of information to help voters. The site includes information to help voters evaluate candidates using these objective criteria: voting records, issue positions, interest group ratings, public statements, and campaign finance data. The site also includes biographical and contact information for candidates running for office at all levels of government.
- League of Women Voters of Massachusetts has information about current ballot questions, who is running for office, and elected officials.
