Due to the participation of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII taking place on Sunday, February 3, temporary traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect to ensure safety and access on City of Boston streets. The following are planned restrictions. The Boston Police Department will implement additional restrictions as necessary.
The following planned street closures will be in effect from approximately 9 PM to 1 AM:
- Commonwealth Avenue, from the Boston University Bridge to Massachusetts Avenue, Both sides
- Brookline Avenue, from Beacon Street (Kenmore Square) to Pilgrim
Road, *Vehicles in garages/parking lots that have no other exit to another public
way will be directed in a southerly direction toward Park Drive - Boylston Street, from Pilgrim Road to Westland Avenue
- Ipswich Street, from Boylston Street at Hemenway Street to Boylston Street at
Park Drive - Lansdowne Street, from Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
- Van Ness Street, from Ipswich Street to Yawkey Way, and from Jersey Street to
Kilmarnock Street - Jersey Street, from Boylston Street to Van Ness Street

WHAT: On Sunday, February 3, 2019, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will implement ramp closures along Storrow Drive (inbound and outbound) at Charlesgate, The Fenway, Park Drive, and Boylston Street via Bowker Street and the Bowker Overpass in the City of Boston. Additionally, DCR will implement a ramp closure of Bowker Street from Charlesgate West at Commonwealth Avenue in the City of Boston. The closures will take affect at the direction of the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) leading up to the conclusion of Super Bowl LIII at approximately 8:00PM to 1:00AM. Traffic patterns will be clearly marked, and a police detail will be on site.Furthermore, DCR will implement parking restrictions along a portion of Boylston Street continuing onto Park Drive in the City of Boston between Charlesgate and Peterborough Street from 3:00PM to 3:00AM. Signage will be clearly posted alerting drivers of the temporary parking restriction.
