FCA CPA funding – Westland Avenue Gateway and Johnson Gates

June 26, 2018 by fenwaycivic

unnamed

Dear Members and Friends:

We are happy to announce the appropriation of $200,000 in Community Preservation Act funds to benefit the Westland Avenue Gateway restoration project, recommended by the Community Preservation Committee and Mayor Walsh and passed by City Council on June 20th.

FCA has long advocated for repairs to the Johnson Gates and the surrounding parkland and pathways. These CPA funds, combined with City allocations, will allow for the stabilization and repair of the Johnson Gates and the full scope of proposed improvements to the Westland Avenue Gateway’s parkland and pathways. We look forward to a repaired monument and improved parkland for all Fenway residents and visitors.

Fenway Civic would like to thank the Community Preservation Committee, Mayor Walsh, Boston City Council, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, and all FCA partners who have helped advance this work.
