On February 13th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Boston City Council Committee on Government Operations will hold a hearing on an ordinance regarding short term rentals in the City of Boston. Information is here: https://www.boston.gov/public- notices/38266
The Alliance of Downtown Neighborhood Associations (ADCO), of which FCA is a member, is working to inform residents about the impacts of short term rentals and push for laws that reverse large scale abuse without infringing on the ability of permanent residents to lease their apartment for short periods of time.
To better understand the impacts, please see attached the ADCO study on short term rental regulations, position letter, and press release. Letters may be sent by email to ccc.go@boston.gov, or faxed to 617-635-4203. Please insert Docket #0129 in the reference.
In-person testimony is encouraged.
-
- Let the Mayor know how you are impacted by short term rentals, whether by strangers in your building, disruption to quiet enjoyment, increases to your cost, or other.
-
- Ask that that that ordinance not allow investor units to be rented by Air BNB and similar short term rental vehicles.
-
- State your support for stable neighborhoods and housing for permanent residents through regulation of short term rentals.
Fenway Civic has worked hard to create and preserve housing in the Fenway. We thought you would want to be informed about the hearing and consider your own response.
