As we look back on 2010, we want to thank our neighbors for being such active participants in the life of the Fenway community. This year we saw our members get out there in record numbers, whether it was helping us spruce up our parks, writing letters on behalf of neighborhood interests, or just plain enjoying all that our community has to offer! We had the highest turnout in years at our annual events such as the Rose Garden Picnic, the Ramler Park concerts, the Bird Walk, and the Tree Lighting! We look forward to another active year, as we strive to promote and sustain a vital, livable neighborhood. As we announced at our annual meeting, we have declared 2011 to be the Year of the Tree for the Fenway. This year, 100% of our annual membership dues will be dedicated to rehabilitating and maintaining trees in the Fenway. The goal of the campaign is to fund responsible tree pruning and maintenance. In this era of slashed government budgets, we see public private partnerships like this one as a way to ensure that the resources near and dear to us are adequately protected. We encourage our members to contribute, and to let us know of any particular tree specimens that could use extra care!
