1. Tuesday, April 26th 6:00 p.m. (virtual) Neighborhood Improvement Committee meeting: Join Berklee and the Neighborhood Improvement Committee and hear from new Berklee President Erica Muhl. 2. Wednesday, April 27th 3:30 p.m. Fenway Cares free food distribution: Need food? 3. Boston Open Space Plan survey: Boston is updating its 7 year open space plan! Do you have ideas and input for what you would like to see? 4. Apply for programming at 401 Park: Applications due by Sunday, May 1 Samuels & Associates are building their first cohort program, an intentional initiative designed for entrepreneurs and practitioners in arts and culture, wellness/public health, and the LGBTQ+ community. Selected cohort members will receive a $2,500 stipend, marketing support, and access to executive mentorship through a communal leadership building program. Save the date! Mayor Wu’s Coffee Hours at Ramler Park will be held May 18th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Come meet Mayor Wu and speak to the Mayor and staff from City departments about open space and your neighborhood. Dunkin’ will be on-site with freshly brewed coffee and assorted treats. In addition, each family in attendance will receive a free flowering plant provided by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, while supplies last. Residents at each event will be eligible to win a raffle prize from Dunkin’. Fresh fruit will be provided by Star Market. Additional support by City Express.

The BPDA is hosting an IMP meeting for the Longwood Place (305 Brookline Avenue) proposal to discuss its filing for redevelopment. This 5.8 acre site is planned for 1.75 million gross s.f. of development including office/laboratory, commercial/retail/restaurant, residential space and parking. What: Virtual public meeting to discuss the Draft Project Impact Report submission for the Fenway Corners Project. A project description as follows:

WS Development, on behalf of WS-Fenway-Twins Realty Venture LLC (the “Proponent”) is proposing a 5.32-acre redevelopment (the “Project”) of 13 privately-owned parcels of land on four primary development blocks located south of the Massachusetts Turnpike in the vicinity of the historic Fenway Park. The Project will consist of approximately 2 million square feet of Gross Floor Area of building area for office/research, residential, and retail uses, and will involve the reconstruction and improvement of approximately 3.7 acres of other public roadways, sidewalks, and other areas of public ownership as part of the Project’s overall commitment to making extraordinary public realm improvements in the Fenway neighborhood. The Project will also include 1,740 new parking spaces, along with the extension of Richard B. Ross Way from Van Ness Street to Brookline Avenue, achieving one of the City of Boston’s long-planned transportation goals for the neighborhood.

BOSTON — Friday, February 18, 2022 – Mayor Michelle Wu and Dr. Bisola Ojikutu today announced that the City’s B Together policy, which requires patrons and staff of certain indoor spaces to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19, will be lifted effective immediately. Today’s public health data shows Boston has a 4.0% community positivity rate; 90.7% occupancy rate of adult ICU beds, and 7-day average of adult COVID-19 hospitalizations at 195.9 per day, falling below all three previously announced thresholds.

“The public health data shows that we’re ready to take this step in our recovery,” said Mayor Michelle Wu. “This news highlights how much progress we’ve made in our fight against COVID-19 thanks to vaccines & boosters—which have always been our most effective weapon against the pandemic. It’s a win for every Bostonian who’s done their part to keep our communities safe, and we have to keep going. I want to thank all of our small businesses who have been working to keep our communities healthy through challenging times.”

“I’m encouraged by our COVID-19 data and optimistic about where our city is headed. The City’s COVID-19 response has been guided by science throughout the pandemic, and we will continue to make data-driven decisions in our mitigation and response strategies in order to keep everyone safe,” said Dr. Bisola Ojikutu, Commissioner of Public Health and Executive Director of the Boston Public Health Commission. “The Boston Public Health Commission remains focused on ensuring equitable access to vaccination and supporting communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.”

“Thanks to the discipline and hard work of Boston residents and public health professionals, as well as careful planning and strong leadership from Mayor Wu and City officials, we have come together as a city to significantly increase vaccination and testing for residents,” said City Council President Ed Flynn. “Let’s continue working together.”

The requirement to wear masks in public indoor spaces remains in place. In the coming days, the Boston Public Health Commission will be reviewing the masking order in consultation with the Board of Health. Since early in the pandemic, the Boston Public Health Commission has continuously tracked health metrics to guide the city’s response.

The City of Boston and the Boston Public Health Commission continue to support easily accessible, free walk-in vaccination clinics across the city, including at many community centers, schools, and community health centers.
