Last week brought several newsworthy developments. Following the primary elections, there’s a recount on the D7 council vote, and a move to have a 2nd Mayoral candidate on the fall ticket; the BPDA passed a controversial downtown plan to allow 700-ft towers in historic downtown Boston which now goes to the Zoning Board for a vote; 2 Charlesgate site was auctioned off (who is the new owner?); Massachusetts Department of Public Health promulgated updated COVID Vaccine guidelines.. And next week, the Senate will consider a general data privacy law for Massachusetts.

District 7 Council Race Headed for Recount Last week two candidates advanced: Said Coach Ahmed, and Miniard Culpepper, However, third place finisher Mavrick Afonso requested a recount due to a 20 vote difference between him and second place.
Third-Place Mayoral Candidate Seeks Spot on November Ballot
Community activist Domingos DaRosa is attempting to rejoin Boston’s mayoral race following Josh Kraft’s withdrawal from the campaign.

Friday-Sunday, Sept 26-28 Red Sox last regular season games vs. Tigers. Will there be playoff games? We’ll see!!!

Fenway Cares Food Distribution at 2 locations:
West Fenway – Fenway Community Center, 1282 Boylston (enter-Jersey)
East Fenway – Symphony Community Park, 39 Edgerly Road
Volunteers are welcome to sign up for all dates and both locations!
The MGH/MBG Community Care Health Clinic will now rotate locations between the West Fenway and East Fenway locations from 1-5 p.m. on Fenway Cares dates. Upcoming schedule: Fenway Community Center on 10/8 and Morville House, 100 Norway Street on 9/24. Offerings may include blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
