Dear Members and Friends:
March is both Women’s History Month and Irish American Heritage Month. Massachusetts has a rich roster of fabulous Irish-American women in the fields of art, education, labor, special olympics, science and politics, of course! No wonder, with a legacy of fearless women who helped shaped modern Ireland. Of local interest, read about Famous women at Fenway Park including some cool leading ladies, Lizzie Murphy (1922 major league player!) and Lada Gaga (major league headliner!).
Also this month, everyone is invited to the Fenway Civic Association Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 27th – 6-8 pm at The 521 Overlook at Fenway Park. We are excited to feature Interim Parks Commissioner Liza Meyer, presenting “Understanding Shadow Impacts on Parkland” (details below).
THE WEEK AHEAD
May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Monday, March 17 is a City of Boston Holiday! You’re probably thinking, St. Patrick’s Day? Watch a narrated presentation on the historic struggle of Evacuation Day. We’re still loud and proud about it.
