Dear Members and Friends:
This February is a “leap year” and we get an ‘extra’ day on February 29th. What will you do with your extra time? A light calendar this week, perhaps you are interested in “ousting the bad spirits and asking in good luck?” – check out the Bean Ceremony at Kaji Aso Studio on February 3. Interested in learning more about civic engagement? Take a look at the upcoming workshop on Feb 10. There is still a lot of work being done on various MBTA lines, so it’s always a good idea to check their site for service alerts.

UPCOMING
Saturday, February 10, 12 – 4 p.m., Civic Engagement Training at Fenway Community Center (half day session includes lunch)
Are you a Fenway or Kenmore resident who is interested in building capacity for self-advocacy and civic participation? People who know how to self-advocate often feel confident in what they’re learning and doing. Self-advocacy also creates independence. And it empowers people to find solutions to problems that others might not be aware of.
This workshop will be conducted by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council.Visit their website to learn more about the MAPC.
